SAFETY AND SECURITY

Multiple safety and protection measures are installed which are responsible for guaranteeing safe operation of the storage system. They work from a mechanical point of view to safeguard the system and also respect current regulations to reduce the risk of industrial accidents.

More specifically there are:

Magneto-thermal differential safety devices on the electric motors and on the various loads
Photoelectric barrier protection within the working bay
Closing shutter between the access opening and the elevator
Emergency push button on each access opening
Emergency visual signalling
Mechanical limit stops for the vertical axis
Height dimension checks of the trays to avoid handling with loads which protrude beyond the limits of the tray
Micro-switches on removable side panels (if any)

Safety Barriers

Multi-ray photoelectric safety light curtains, as standard, enable the operator to work in total safety during tray handling towards the access opening by ensuring continuity and speed of picking operations.

Automatic Shutter Door

Each access opening is equipped with an interior automatic shutter door. It ensures the operator’s safety during machine operations. At any time, it is possible to halt the storage system using the emergency push buttons, positioned on the front of the storage system.

Dimension-control System

Each access opening is equipped with mono-ray photocells (fixed configuration) or optical scanner with multi-ray photocells (automatic configuration) enabling a height check of loads positioned in the tray.
Relevant functions:

They detect trays containing items above the height limits and prevent them from being deposited inside the system
They choose the correct tray location when using automatic configuration
