THE COMPANY
Baritermo is a company specialized in the distribution of products for hydraulic systems, heating, air conditioning, plumbing fixtures, valves, fittings for the construction industry.
THE LOGISTICS CHALLENGE
One of the biggest challenges for Baritermo was linked to the ever-increasing number of stock items to manage, and the difficulty that this phenomenon has created in a context characterized by the outsourcing of the production process, and by an increasing number of varied and demanding customers. This has in turn led to ever increasingly more complex order and picking processes with more items per order and often in smaller quantities that are less than the standard pack size.
THE SOLUTION
To cope with these emerging logistical problems, Baritermo opted for 4 SILO2 VLMs, each with 3 storage columns. The strategic decision to position them in pairs, facing each other, helps to further increase turnaround times for the operators, by reducing the distance they have to cover between storage systems. At over 12 metres high, with 4 of these being below ground, this solution is able to offer almost 500 m3 of storage capacity, while occupying just 111 m2 of floor space.
