OPERATIONAL CONTINUITY AND FLEXIBILITY

In the multi-column system SILO^{2 ISTO TECH}, access openings can be placed side by side to favor continuity, speed and efficiency in storage and retrieval handling operations: while the operator is involved in handling operations in one access opening, the vertical lift system can proceed with the next mission and bring the required tray to the adjacent access opening, thereby reducing or even eliminating waiting times.

Access openings can be positioned on the same level, on different levels or opposite each other to offer the greatest possible freedom to configure it according to available space.

EFFICIENCY AND SAFETY

• Multi-ray photoelectric light curtains and an automatic vertical shutter allow staff to work safely while handling trays in the access opening


• Emergency push buttons, located on the front of the archive system, enable the system to be stopped immediately at any time


• The integrated air extraction system reduces the high concentration of formaldehyde, protecting staff from exposure due to inhalation


• The automatic fire detection and extinguishing system provides early warning for any dangerous situations

Everything is cleverly controlled with ICON^TM, our software which expertly manages the SILO² Isto Tech system.
Integration with the most popular WMS and ERP management software, label printing and bar code readers ensures the fully traceability of the stored items.
Furthermore, the integration of barcode and QR Code readers and IRIDE, the innovate, interactive and multimedia system, will make storage and retrieval of histological samples faster, more accurate and more intuitive thanks to a digital environment, fully integrated with both the archive system and our ICON^TM management system via four main features:

Safe and ordered archiving

The storage of histological material is accomplished inside trays which have been specially designed for the archiving of slides and tissue samples.

Each individual tray is equipped with metal and/or plastic storage containers which hold a single or double row of samples and are equipped with a front tab to facilitate removal and handling.

A barcode and/or QR Code can be attached to both the tray and the tab to allow the operator to double-check correct identification and avoid any possible storage and retrieval errors.

During consultation, the operator only needs to remove a single storage container, weighing just 1.5 kg, in the single row version, unlike traditional static systems where a typical drawer can weigh around 16 kg (holding a standard 36 compartments).

The height of the storage containers is designed to be lower than that of the stored units to make their removal easier.
