GLS is an express courier which provides international shipping services founded in 1999, now part of the British Royal mail Group. The GLS Cosenza branch has been active in the shipping business for over 25 years. Every day the depot manages more than 40 distribution vehicles and more than 2,000 customers.
THE LOGISTICS CHALLENGE
The growth in e-commerce sales with a significant increase in the number of packages to be delivered, as well as undelivered packages to be rescheduled for delivery and returns, has made management of the GLS logistics processes even more complex.
THE SOLUTION
In the aim of optimizing the available warehouse space, reducing the operational costs and guaranteeing more adequate storage conditions to the undelivered parcels, GLS decided to install a SILO2 Vertical Lift Module.
